SHORT FICTION OPEN MIC SLAM
Is your short story worth £50? Why not read it aloud and let the audience and our panel of judges decide?
HOW IT WORKS
Write a 4-minute story to read aloud (350-400 words maximum). Would-be competitors’ names are drawn from a hat if we can’t fit everyone in. The audience and judges vote for a winner. Runner-up prizes include copies of our latest issue. Entry (for both authors and audience) is free.
TIPS
- Practice your story before the slam – the time limit is absolute
- Try to end with a bang
- Stories of any genre / style are welcome
- Remember the title and interpret as you wish
